Many, many, MANY years ago, back when yahoo groups still roamed the earth, a small group of intrepid SMK fanfic writers banded together to share story ideas, beta read for each other and provide overall moral support to each other.

This plan worked well for a time, with each of the writers producing wonderful stories for the SMK fandom to enjoy.

And then, one fateful day …

One of the group members suggested that they should all band together to write a story round robin style with each of them creating a chapter. This was accepted as a good idea and it was suggested that at the end of their chapter each writer would think of four prompts (a person, a place, a thing and a phrase) that the next author would have to incorporate into their chapter.

Reports vary as to exactly which of them first realized that by choosing ludicrous/arcane/unpronounceable and/or just plain insane story prompts they could try to back the next writer into a corner that surely NO ONE could write their way out of.
